Sydney Long

Painter and etcher of decorative pastorals and idylls. He was Julian Ashton's Partner at The Sydney Art School from 1907-10.
He held the seat of President at the NSW Society of Artists from 1898-1901, and was a trustee of the Art gallery of NSW from 1933-49.
Long was also a director of the Royal Art Society School, Sydney, and was an elected Associate of the Royal Society of Painters and Etchers in 1920.
He exhibited works at the Royal Scottish Academy, The Royal Glasgow Institute, The Royal Academy London and the paris Salon.
His work is represented in all australian state galleries, the Victoria and Albert Museum and the British Museum.
